Our brands
Ralph Marlin
Most ties of Dasje.nl are from the brand Ralph Marlin.
Ralph Marlin was a fisherman who left the US in 1939, because he was fed up with
the IRS and the Health Costums. He setteld in a town called Rosa Rita in Mexico
and became a very succesful fisherman. Everyone who came to Rosa Rita, wanted to
go to Ralph's boat, because he gave peoplo good luck.

In 1956 his luck ran out. He was very superstisious and tought about all the
things that could bring him luck. He went to the local library and read about
medicine from all over the world.
That's how he learned about a medicineman, that it would bring luck if a dead
fish from the last catch was hung around the neck by his tale. This was followed
by a dans for the spirits of the sea to call them.

Ralph grasped a stinking old fish, tied it around his neck and went fishing. He had
tremendous luck, the biggest catch of the jear. The next day he repeated his
ritual. Again a record catch. This went on for years.
In 1964 Ralph disapeared with his boat and nobody has heard from him again.
Because Ralph was so respected by the people of his village, a statue of him was
made with a fish around his neck.
This was the inspiration for the fish necktie, the first tie of the brand Ralph Marlin, in 1986.
Ofcourse this tie is added to our collection.
